We'd like to start by thanking everyone who completed our mid-year member survey just before Christmas. We really value your feedback and insight as it helps us to focus our strategies on the things that really matter to you.
We had just under 950 responses which gives us a great representation of the membership and has highlighted several key areas that require our attention in 2024:
Gym refurbishment, staff presence & cleanliness, towels
We have recently hired a new Assistant Gym Manager, Fernando, who will be ever-present in the gym and will ensure consistent staff support for our members. We are also excited that we are in the latter stages of agreeing a £1m gym refurbishment this summer - full info to follow very soon.
Golf: Driving range, Manor Course and continued course improvements
We are close to agreeing a deal that will see ball-tracking technology fitted in the driving range in 2024, as well introducing some dedicated teaching bays and some other structural improvements. We will also be replacing the tee matts this year on the Manor Course, as well as continuing our work on the conditioning of our popular par-three. Phase two of our course improvement project on the Longcross will finish in the spring where we're excited to unveil the changes, particularly our rebuilt 9th green. Attention will then turn to the Bernard Hunt where will will continue to work with European Golf Design to elevate the design to better suit the modern style of the game, as well as improve year-round playability.
Online member booking portal
We continue to work with our technology provider to improve the user experience on our booking portal. Rest assured that the team are aware of any concerns and are working hard on a solution. We are also exploring apps which integrate with our resort management software.
F&B improvements resort wide
We have recently partnered with Auden Hospitality to help us enhance our F&B offering. Auden is a London-based hospitality agency with a global presence bringing two decades of experience from developing, opening and managing a range of operations from luxury hotels, upscale and casual dining restaurants to quick service and dark kitchens, often working alongside well-known brands, chefs and personalities.
Working alongside the Foxhills team, Auden will be looking at how we can elevate the member experience across the food and beverage outlets. Led by Scot Turner, who has more than 25 years' experience in the industry having worked in 10 countries in both luxury hotels such as The Dorchester Collection and InterContinental Hotels as well as with restauranteurs such as Alain Ducasse, Frederic Vardon and Dominique Ansel, we have began the process with an audit of Flo's with a new concept and improvements to the offering soon to be announced.
Member social events; price & offerings
We have taken on your feedback when putting together the 2024/25 member social event calendar. We will be putting on several free events for members to attend throughout the year and have limited the calendar to those events that have been popular over the past couple of years. Please look out for the new calendar which will be released in March.
Tennis: Cleanliness, maintenance, and offerings
We are using the opening of padel and pickleball to relaunch racquets at the club. As such, you will see much more focus in this area, including the programme of lessons, clinics and competitions, as well as The Woodie and the overall maintenance of the courts. Court B's conversion to clay has gone down well after monitoring member activity and surface preference and shows our commitment to enhancing this area in line with trends. We will keep you up-to-date on further developments.
Member Communication
Please continue to look out for our weekly newsletter, sent by email every Friday. We were pleased to see that this is well received and will be taking comments on board as to what content you'd like included.
We have added 'quick links' at the bottom of each newsletter to the online Member Hub, timetables and sign-up to our WhatsApp Community for real-time updates and urgent notifications on closures etc.
Our weekly newsletter link will also be shared in the WhatsApp Community for those that may have missed it in their email inbox.
